Sonu Nigam is an Indian playback singer, composer and actor. He is one of the most talented and versatile singer in the industry. He had sung more than hundreds of song in films and albums. His songs have been featured mainly in Hindi, Odia, Kannada, Punjabi and Marathi movies. He has also worked in movies like Jaani Dushman, Love in Nepal and Kash Aap Hamare Hote. He was seen in T-series music video "Aa Bhi Jaa Tu Kahin Se" with actress Amyra Dastur. Sonu Nigam has recorded a song for fictional TV show "Nagarjun - Ek Yoddha". The song has been composed by Jeet Gannguli and written by his wife Chandrani Gannguli.
Sonu was born on 30 July 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana into Hindu family. His family moved to Delhi when he was very young. He has completed schooling from J.D. Tytler School in Delhi. He was trained by classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He moved to Mumbai with his family to begin his Bollywood singing career at the age of 18. He started his acting career as a child artist with the movie Betaab in 1983 where he played the role of young Sunny Deol in the movie.

Sonu got married to a Bengali girl Madhurima on February 15, 2002. She is a fashion designer. She has designed for her husband Sonu, for his concerts, special events and television shows. The couple is blessed with a son named Nevaan, born in 2007. Nevaan has recorded his own version of Dhanush's popular track "Kolaveri Di" and has sung with Lata Mangeshkar's "Geet Kab Sarhadein Maante Hain" song.
Sonu Nigam has started his Bollywood singing career with the movie Janam in 1990. His impressive singing was noticed by the famous Gulshan Kumar and he offered Sonu to sing in the film Bewafa Sanam. His song "Accha Sila Diya" became that year's biggest hit. Later, he also hosted Zee TV's singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma.
In 1997, Sonu sang 'Sandese Aate Hain' for Border movie which was the biggest hit of that year and he got many awards. After that, he sung for many films like Taal, Pukar, Pardes, Saathiya and many more. He also released many pop albums named Deewana, Jaan, Yaad, Mausam and Chanda Ki Doli, which became major hits.
