The Mahabharata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Ramayana. Besides its epic narrative of the Kurukshetra War and the fates of the Kauravas and the Pandava princes, the Mahabharata contains much philosophical and devotional material, such as a discussion of the four "goals of life" or purusharthas. Among the principal works and stories that are a part of the Mahabharata are the Bhagavad Gita. Sources says that producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary is all set to shoot his ambitious project, the mythological serial Mahabharat in Kashmir. Currently, the shoot is going on at a brisk pace in Umargaon in Gujarat but in the later half of this month, few actors will fly to Kashmir. “It will be shot in Pehlgam and a few other prominent locations. Kashmir has been chosen because the era of Mahabharat was considered heaven on earth and no other place can provide a lush green valley with snowcapped mountains,” informs a source. Actress Sayanti Ghosh who plays Satyavati, Sameer Dharmadikari who essays King Shantanu and a few other actors are said to be going for the shoot.
